GI Aquatics Physio / CLM Pool Closure

To our valued clients of GI Aquatics Physio, we would like to inform you we are taking advantage of the closure of CLM pools for re-tiling, and closing the physio clinic from Friday 19th April until Monday 6th May 2013, for our own refurbishment.

Our physiotherapists are still able to meet your needs from several of our other Auckland practices.

Round the Bays

We are doing our very popular 20 minute for $20 massages to help out all the Round the Bays participants (& everyone else).

We have teamed up with Shoe Science so everybody that has a 20 minute massage during the month of March will get a $30 voucher off a pair of shoes.

PRG update

Comings & goings: Richie Marsden on tour with Manu Samoa; Akbar Bhamji just returned from IRB Rugby 7′s circuit, also with Samoa; Fred Lait recently returned from Cook Islands with College Rifles 7′s team; Ema Pene returned from recent Junior Tall Ferns Basketball team; Dean Trembath returned from Tonga; Kat Collett has been very busy lately with Auckland Womens Football;

Clinic Happenings: Our new Lunn Ave Clinic (based in the new White Cross, Lunn Ave) has been open several weeks now & is going very well with Dermot Foley booked solidly; Orakei Health Services have now taken over from White Cross (Eastridge Shops) & Elizabeth Hitch is still going strongly at this clinic.

We also say goodbye to one of our most popular young physiotherapists, David Royal (based at Waitakere Stadium Physio) is leaving for is big OE, he will be missed by all.  Alex Boyd from Northern Arena clinic has also moved on & will be replaced by Kelly Christie.

Anterior Knee Pain & PRG Update

Research plays a critical part of current practice.  Nearly half of our physiotherapists are actively furthering their education.  This keeps us at the forefront of physiotherapy – prevention, treatment, rehabilitation & performance.

We come across many interesting articles & research papers one such little gem is this one on Anterior Knee Pain.

Other Goings On at Physio Rehab Group:

Sharon Choie (Manukau Clinic) is going on Tour with the Tall Ferns.  Whilst Cameron Simmiss (Glen Innes Pools Clinic) has been appointed to the Samoan Rugby Team for the mid-year programme.  AK Bhamji (Akbar – West Wave & Albert St Clinics) has just returned from London after finishing his second year as the Manu Samoa 7′s Physiotherapist.  Heiner Otumuli is going to the under 20′s Rugby World Cup with Tonga.  Jae Kim has recently been appointed to Taekwondo NZ as a Physiotherapist.

Stephanie Marr (Waitakere Clinic) is continuing a great season with the “chair lifting” Northern Mystics (ably assisted by Leigh Tawharu).  Mark Plummer is still toiling away with the Blues, whilst Jordan Salesa will shortly be jetting off to the London Olympics.

We continue to supply rest home services to Christian Healthcare Trust & Ryman Healthcare Facilities along with many other organisations, sports teams & clubs.

Really getting into the swing of 2012 now!

We have taken on some new staff at various locations and have just updated our staff profile pages – check them out here.

Our physiotherapists are getting busy in various places;

  • Karen, Akbar (West Wave), Cameron (Glen Innes) & Heiner (Pasifika) have been looking after Samoa, Cook Islands & Tonga respectively at the Wellington Sevens.  Akbar also continues on with Samoa to Las Vegas.
  • Stephanie & Leigh (Waitakere) have been very busy in the lead up to the ANZ Netball Champs looking after the Mystics.
  • David (Waitakere) is enjoying his new job as Physiotherapist to the Vulcans – the Warriors feeder club.
  • Mark is working very hard with the Blues (just had good pre-season win against the Hurricanes)
  • Jordan’s place in the London Olympic Health team was recently confirmed (4th Olympics for him!)
  • Will (Panmure Lagoon) has recently jetted out to Fiji with the Auckland 7′s team and continues his work with the Auckland Rugby Academy.

Most of the others are also launching into the winter sport seasons looking after our many rugby & rugby league clubs including; Ardmore Marist, Bay Roskill, College Rifles, East Tamaki, Hibiscus Coast, Manukau Rovers, Manurewa, Mt Albert, Pakuranga, Papatoetoe, Suburbs, Teachers Eastern and TePapapa.

We also have significant involvement with several prominent schools, rest homes and many other community organisations.  Check out our “who we work with page”

Our Manu Samoa & Ikahe Tahi did themselves proud.  Well done to the guys Matt Taylor, Ulima Tofi & LeeVan Santos – once in a lifetime opportunity which they all thoroughly enjoyed.

2011 – Great Summer so far

Back into the swing of things?

After having a skeleton staff over the break our team is fully recharged & back into looking after your aches and pains.

Clinics

Our Kohi clinic has relocated to White Cross Eastridge.  We are very excited about this relationship with White Cross as we know we can all deliver even better services together.  The phone number remains the same 528 6400.

We have opened a brand new clinic within the new state of the art learn to swim & gym complex – The Northern Arena is located at 8 Polarity Rise – Silverdale.

Wow Christmas is actually here!  Merry xmas to all.
